In this tutorial, we will learn to create a nice looking text effect.
Create a new file of 300x300 pixel.
Fill the background with black color.
Type any character of your choice.
Control+click on type layer to select it.
Move the selection 4-5 pixel down and 2 pixel to right.
Press shift+control+I to inverse the selection and than, press alt+shift+control together and click on the text layer name. You will have this type of selection.
Create a new layer by pressing shift+control+n.
fill the selection with white.
Press control+d to deselect.
Now, go to filter>blur>gussian blur and blur it around 1.4 to 1.6 pixels.
Go to filter>render>lighting effects and apply these settings to the layer. Note that I have applied the effect to the second layer.

Now, apply these layer styles to the text layer.

Create a new layer. Draw these two star like shapes with this brush :-
Change its blending mode to Soft light. Our new text is ready :)
